Determined to Follow Through

When the days drew near for Him to be taken up, He set his face to go to Jerusalem. Luke 9:51

We have entered into Holy Week—the week from Jesus’s Triumphal entry into Jerusalem until His death on the cross.

As we walk out this week, let’s walk through it with a humble, heavenly perspective. That’s what Jesus did.

Let’s meditate on the love He demonstrated by laying down His own life. Jesus could have vanished into the crowd as He had so many times before, but He didn’t because His time had come. He determined to follow through because He was committed to fulfilling the ultimate plan. So much so that He gave himself up to flogging, beating, and a most horrifying death, and He did it all for us. He did it for love. He did it to win the victory over sin and death.

For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Indeed, rarely will anyone die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person someone might actually dare to die. But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us. Romans 5:6-8

It wasn’t easy, Scripture paints the picture of Jesus’ agonizing journey from the garden to the cross. But He knew Sunday was coming. He pressed in. He surrendered. He completed the work, bowed His head, and gave up His spirit. For us…

What a Savior we serve! Let’s praise Him and determine to partner with Him daily until the plans He has for each of us have been fulfilled.

Joyfully Yours,

Krissy
